Origins of the Africa Coffee Tables Project
Our vision is to have one of these Africa Coffee Tables in every South African Embassy across the world and to produce a version that is affordable and accessible for every Africa loving household in South Africa and abroad wishing to build on former president Nelson Mandela’s legacy of diligence and endurance . We aim to make ownership of the tables not only a joy but also an investment.
Income derived from producing and selling these tables is to be dedicated to establishing and maintaining Integrated and Sustainable Community Resource Centers across South Africa.
The founders of Sweat & Dance have dedicated all of their resources since its inauguration in 1988 as an NGO up until now to make this promise to Madiba to establish these Resource Centers a reality in our country. Having used our own capital to do so have insured that we are not governed by any institution or funders nor any governmental or qwasi-government instrument. All our pilot projects in the Resource Centers have got the potential to be independently self sustainable as they are market related, embraces appropriate technology, debt free, ad hire to an approach of functional art (like the tables) and bring about equity share holding to willing entrepreneurs. Details of company`s deliverables and track record over the 25 years of operation is available upon request.
Our Africa Coffee Table project will be launched during early 2014. Work is in progress and in a Research & Development phase.

We believe Mandela was God-sent to Africa to defeat poverty and bring equality, just as the Eagle has killed the snake in the statue above
